The Management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, (FNPH) Benin City organized a five-day induction and orientation programme for its newly employed staff. The event which held between 9th – 13th March 2026 at the hospital Conference Hall in Uselu site was aimed to build capacity and introduce the employees to the Public Service. The new employees made up of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, administrative officers and other professionals are expected to, help bridge the manpower gap created by retirements and the migration of health workers.
According to the Medical Director, Dr Imafidon Osama Agbonile, the essence of the induction ceremony was to introduce the new employees to the public service. He urged the new staff to adhere strictly to the ethics of the medical profession and the culture of the Nigerian Civil Service, stressing that their primary responsibility is to deliver quality health to patients.
Heads of various departments in the hospital also join to welcome the recruits and advised them to imbibe the institution’s core values particularly during their probation period. Some of the employees expressed gratitude to the hospital’s management for the opportunity to serve in the hospital and pledged to abide by the rules guiding the civil service.
