The College of Nursing Sciences, Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, (FNPH) Benin City on Wednesday 18th March 2026 held its inaugural matriculation of 175 nursing students at the hospital’s new site in Idunmwunowinna Community.
Speaking during the occasion, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Imafidon Osama Agbonile congratulated the matriculants, noting that the hospital’s post-basic school of nursing has been in existence since 1979, and has produced excellence mental health nurses. Dr Agbonile noted that the transition into general nursing education aims to produce professional midwives and public health nurses for diverse health settings urging the students to stay focused.
The Acting Provost of the College, Mr Saturday Okolo, welcomed the matriculants into the nursing profession. He advised the students to remain focus as they embarked on their academic journey to ensure successful completion.
