 New AMLRAN Edo State Executive Visits FNPH Benin, Commends Management’s Support

FNPH Benin’s Information & Public Relations Unit

The Association of Medical Laboratory Technicians and Assistants of Nigeria (AMLTAN), Edo State Branch, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH), Benin City, to formally introduce its newly elected executive members and also to appreciate the hospital’s management for its support of the association.

The delegation, led by the State Chairman, Comrade Joseph Prince Ibe, was accompanied by the State Secretary, Comrade Joy Kadiri, the Public Relations Officer, Comrade N. Abubakar, and the Primary HealthCare Branch Chairman, Comrade Eguagie Suyi Favour. During the visit, the delegation expressed the association’s gratitude to the hospital’s management for the employment of some of its members during hospital’s recent recruitment exercise, describing the gesture as a significant boost to the medical laboratory profession.

As a mark of appreciation for his exemplary leadership and commitment to staff development, the Comrade Ibe on behalf of the association presented a Merit Award Plaque to the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Imafidon Osama Agbonile.

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Medical Director, the Head of Clinical Services, Dr Godspower O. Owie, thanked them for the thoughtful gesture. He explained that the Medical Director was unavoidably absent due to official engagements but assured them that their goodwill message would be conveyed to the Medical Director.

Dr Owie used the medium to reaffirm the hospital management’s commitment to fostering a cordial working relationship with all professional associations in the hospital, noting that the contributions of Medical Laboratory Technicians and Assistants remain vital to quality healthcare service delivery. The visit concluded with the presentation of the award plaque, followed by a group photograph.
