The Management of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Benin City (FNPH Benin) has once again demonstrated its commitment to capacity building and administrative efficiency with the successful organization of a two-day intensive training programme for selected members of staff. The training, which held on Thursday 26th – Friday 27th 2026, took place at the hospital’s Uselu site and brought together key officers whose responsibilities are central to financial accountability and human resource management. Participants included the Head of Finance & Accounts, Mrs R. J. Igbinnosa, the Head of Internal Audit, Mrs E. A. Anthony-Owie; as well as Accounts Officers, Human Resources Officers, and Audit Officers.

The programme was facilitated by Mr David Garba and Mr Uhiara Ikechi Precious, both officials from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF), Abuja, under the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) Department. The facilitators provided practical and hands-on guidance on managing daily variations and updates on the IPPIS platform.

Throughout the sessions, participants were exposed to current best practices, emerging challenges, and compliant procedures required for accurate and timely personnel and payroll management. The interactive nature of the training encouraged questions, experience-sharing, and problem-solving, ensuring that participants left with clearer insights and improved technical confidence.

At the end of the programme, certificates of participation were presented to all the trainees in recognition of their commitment and active engagement.

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mrs Cynthia Enubuzor, Principal Executive Officer, expressed profound appreciation to the Management of the hospital for prioritizing staff development and institutional efficiency. She also thanked the facilitators for their clarity, and professionalism, noting that the training would significantly enhance staff performance and service delivery.
