Monday 30th January 2023 marks a special day for the General Medical Centre/NHIS Unit of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Benin City as the first child birth was delivered in the hospital.

It is worthy to note that the hospital now operates general medical services alongside psychiatry. The hospital management as well as the staff of the hospital have expressed their joy and congratulated the mother of the newborn for the normal delivering of her baby.

Speaking during the visit of the Management Team to the mother of the baby, the Medical Director, Dr. Imafidon O. Agbonile who could not hide his joy congratulated the family physician Dr. Kelvin Agbon-Ogieva and the entire staff of the GMC/NHIS and thanked the almighty God for the safe delivering of the baby. He also thanked the mother of the newborn for choosing the hospital for this milestone event. The Medical Director named baby β€œOkao” which means β€œFirst” in Benin Language. The Medical Director and the Head of the Clinical Services Department thereafter donated cash gifts to the mother of the newborn.
