The Administration department of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH), Benin City, on Friday, 30th January 2026, hosted its End-of-Year Party in a colourful and well-attended ceremony held at the Nursing Lecture Hall, Uselu site of the hospital.
The event attracted key members of the hospital’s management team. Including the Medical Director, Dr. Imafidon Osama Agbonile; the Head of Clinical Services, Dr Godspower Osaretin Owie; the Director of Administration, Mrs Clara Celimat Isede; and the Acting Provost, College of Nursing Sciences, Mr Saturday O. Okolo. Also in attendance were senior and junior officers of the Administration Department.
In her welcome address, the Director of Administration, Mrs. Clara Celimat Isede, warmly welcomed the Medical Director, management staff, and members of the department. She explained that the End-of-Year Party was organized to provide an opportunity for staff to unwind after a demanding work year and to further strengthen cooperation, unity, and cordial working relationships within the department.
According to her, “The Administration Department plays a critical role in the smooth running of the hospital, and it is important that we occasionally come together outside the usual work environment to relax, bond, and renew our collective commitment to service. “She expressed profound appreciation to the Medical Director for honouring the department’s invitation and for his continuous support and encouragement of staff welfare and teamwork across the hospital.
In his goodwill message, the Medical Director, Dr. Agbonile, commended the Director of Administration and members of the organizing committee for what he described as a well-planned and magnificent event. He noted that such gatherings promote unity, improve staff morale, and ultimately reflect positively on service delivery.
Dr. Agbonile encouraged members of the Administration Department to sustain the spirit of oneness, professionalism, and dedication to duty. “When there is unity and mutual respect among staff, productivity naturally improves. I urge you all to continue working together as a team in support of the hospital’s mandate of effective and compassionate healthcare delivery”, he said.
The event was marked by fun, merriment, games, lively music, and an array of refreshments, creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere for all present.
The party also served as a platform to formally celebrate staff members of the department who have retired as well as those scheduled to retire in the year 2026, in recognition of their years of dedicated and selfless service to the hospital.
The high point of the occasion was the presentation of gifts to the retirees, followed by group photographs.
Some of the retirees and attendees who spoke with the information and Public Relations Unit of the hospital expressed appreciation to the hospital management and the Administration Department for the honour accorded them. One of the retirees described the gesture as “a thoughtful and memorable way to appreciate years of service”, while another attendee noted that the event strengthened the sense of belonging and family within the department.
Overall, the End-of-Year Party was described by participants as a resounding success, reinforcing the values of unit, appreciation, and teamwork that FNPH Benin continues to uphold.
