
Today, September 25th, 2024 the Pharmacy Department of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH) Benin celebrates World Pharmacist Day 2024 with the theme “Pharmacist: Meeting Global Health Needs”. This day is set aside to celebrate the dedication and vital contribution of pharmacists in health care.
To commemorate the day, the pharmacists in FNPH Benin, had a sensitization exercise with tricycle riders popularly known as “Keke Napep” at Okhoro junction. The riders and passengers were educated on consultation with a pharmacist before the purchase of any medication to avoid drug abuse, safe and efficient medication use, drug misuse, and routine medical checkups.
They also used the occasion to create awareness about the hospital General Medical Services. The highlight of the exercise was the presentation of anti-worm medication to the riders.
