The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNW) South-South Zone on Monday 1st July 2024 paid a courtesy visit to the management team of Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital Benin City. Speaking at the occasion, the South-South Zonal Chairman Mrs. ImoAbasi Moses thanked the medical director for his warm reception and noted that the union is pleased with the harmonious relationship that exist between management and Nurses in the Hospital. She informed the Medical Director that the purpose of their visit was to solicit for the welfare of the Nurses working in the hospital in terms of sponsorship to special training/conferences.

The Medical Director, Dr Imafidon Osama Agbonile while welcoming NANNW Officials to the hospital stated that the nurses are a very massive component of the health care sector adding that without them good health care cannot be fully guaranteed. He thus stated that he has been ensuring that the nurses in the hospital are comfortable. This he said has helped to further boost the harmonious relationship between them and the hospital management. He thus commended the hospital’s nurses for their hard work and for maintaining good services, in spite of the “Japa” syndrome that is currently affecting the whole country.

Dr Agbonile also used the medium to express his gratitude to the Honourable Minister of Health and Social Welfare for being very helpful and sympathetic about the affairs of the health sector owing to the japa syndrome. He promised to continue do everything within his power that would help to promote the good working relationship that exist between the hospital’s management and the nurses.
