INTRODUCTION
Early-onset schizophrenia is defined as an onset of schizophrenia before the age of 18years. It is associated with severe clinical course , poor psychosocial functioning and increased severity of brain abnormality.
Early onset schizophrenia comprises childhood-onset and adolescent-onset schizophrenia.
Childhood-onset schizophrenia is a rare and severe form of schizophrenia now recognized as a progressive neurodevelopmental disorder.
