The Medical Director of Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Benin City (FNPH Benin), Dr. Imafidon O. Agbonile was awarded the Ethical Leadership/Conduct Compliance Certificate by the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation on July 5th, 2023.
The Executive Director of the Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu, presented the award to Dr. Agbonile who was represented by the Head of Clinical Services, Dr. J.O. Omoaregba. He praised him for his innovative skills and noted that his organisation found him worthy of character and conduct to be conferred with their organisation highest honorary title, which is the integrity icon of Nigeria, exclusively reserved for only one hundred professionals who have contributed positively in different fields of endeavour. He added that the hospital ranked first among the ten shortlisted specialist Federal Tertiary Health institutions in Nigeria.
Other members of the core management team were also presented with letters of commendation for professional ethics compliance and quality service delivery in the health sector in Nigeria.
Dr. J.O. Omoaregba expressed the gratitude of the management to the organization for the award and asserted that the Medical Director would be happy because he values such awards. He noted that the hospital has always prided itself in the maintenance of engrained values and that it is great that this has been validated by an external international body. He however expressed the Medical Director’s regret for not being able to attend the meeting owing to the exigencies of his office. He also thanked the organization on behalf of other management team for honoring them with the commendation letters, noting that it would encourage them to do more, especially in terms of ethics and norms.
